Our story

"Follow The Word" was created by Minister William (Bill) O'Hare in 2025. As a Chaplain and with a degree in Theological Studies, I found myself seeing various trends across the board when it came to Christianity. Some reports and articles stated there was a decline in the number of believers who followed Christianity. Some stated there was an increase, especially among younger age groups. Other articles reported that the overall opinion of Christians was in decline with much of the decline being due to political beliefs and ideologies and a failure of the churches overall. Whatever the cause may be, we have seen a certain degree of negativity associated with Christianity in recent years. I found this to be quite disturbing. 

There also seemed to be a movement, actually several movements among the believers to alter the way the Word is interpreted. Therein lies a problem. God's Words were never meant to be changed in order to suit an individual's life. We cannot pick and choose the parts of the bible that we feel we can adhere to and then find our own reasons to circumvent those we do not like. Unlike laws and agreements, the bible was not designed to be individually amended, the bible is simply the Word of God. That is why we chose the name, "Follow The Word." As we begin our ministerial duties in this new online adventure, our hope is to bring clarification and understanding to the Word, and help all Christians understand what the bible tells us. 

Matthew 28:18-20 tells us; Then Jesus came to them and said "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." 

What amazing words these are and incredibly meaningful. In the near future we will examine this and many other scripture verses as well, as we truly seek to understand and Follow The Word. Although I am in my 7th decade of the journey of my life, our ministerial journey in an online setting with you is just beginning and we hope you follow with us as we go.
